About SaveClips

A straightforward tool for saving publicly shared videos — built to be fast, free, and respectful of how the underlying platforms work.

What We Do

A Simple Video Downloader, Nothing More

SaveClips lets you save publicly shared videos from TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to your own device. You paste a link, we retrieve the video file the platform is already serving publicly, and you get a clean copy to keep. There's no account system, no subscription, and no software to install — it runs entirely in your browser.

We built this because the in-app save options on most platforms are limited — many videos can't be saved at all, and the ones that can often come with a watermark overlay that makes the file harder to reuse or reference later.

How It Works

No Logins, No Stored Data

SaveClips does not ask for your TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook credentials, and it cannot access anything that isn't already publicly visible. The link you submit is used once to retrieve that specific video, and we don't keep a record of which URLs have been requested. You can read the full technical explanation on our homepage or in our Privacy Policy.

Editorial Standards

How We Write Our Guides

The guides and help articles on this site are written and maintained by the SaveClips team based on direct, hands-on testing of the tool and the platforms it connects to. We update pages when platform behaviour changes — for example, when a platform alters its video page structure or when our own supported-platform status changes. Each guide page shows a "last reviewed" date so you know how current the information is.

Our Position on Copyright

We Don't Host or Store Content

SaveClips does not host, archive, or distribute any video content. We provide a technical tool that retrieves a single copy of a publicly accessible file at the moment you request it — comparable to what a web browser already does when it plays a video, just made accessible without developer tools. What you do with a downloaded file afterward is your responsibility; our position on acceptable use is detailed in our Copyright & Fair Use guide and Terms of Service.
